A positive tactile experience of the places is essential for a perception of overall well-being. Contacts between man and the architectural context are continuous. They involve a series of elements that are imposed on attention in the design phase. Materials, shapes, dimensions, finishes, temperatures, consistencies, weights. Everything affects the tactile well-being in the environment.
The eye investigates, controls and investigates, the touch approaches and caresses
The skin reads the texture, weight, density and temperature of matter, acting as a dividing line between our inner self and the outside world. Touch is the father of all the senses, the first means by which we touch and understand the world. This bodily encounter between us and architecture, between us and the space that surrounds us, translates into a deep and intuitive knowledge. Touch integrates the experience of the outside world with the inner one, enriching our perception and our interaction with the environment. In architecture, touch reveals the stories hidden in materials, making tangible the essence of the spaces we live in.

Wood, unlike everything that is not living matter, bases its identity on imperfections, which become strengths and amplify tactile sensations.
The heat that the wood emanates to the touch gives perceptions impossible to have with any other type of material.
Maui is the armchair produced by Riva 1920 and signed by Terry Dwan, designer and architect of American origin.
In solid cedar wood worked from a single block. It is a sculptural monolith with a curvilinear and sinuous design characterised by an ergonomic seat in line with the backrest.
